Natural Awakenings Boulder

Natural Awakenings Boulder was a monthly, free, 40-page newsprint magazine dedicated to social responsibility and sustainability. Acting as a health and wellness resource for Boulder and Broomfield counties, articles by well-respected experts in the natural living field such as Deepak Chopra, Dr. Andrew Weil, Rodney Yee, Dr. Wayne Dyer and Dr. Christiane Northrup were featured. Char was the layout and production artist for the magazine from 2008 throughout 2010. She also designed local articles by Colorado writers and authorities for the magazine.

The American Trakehner

This is part of a 56-page specialty magazine about Trakehners, German show horses. Char was in charge of scanning all photo prints, layout, formatting, and production of a different themed issue three times a year (from 2001-2004) in collaboration with a project manager. Each issue sported color pages in front, back, and center while the rest of the sections were black and white with advertising throughout. Although a previous designer created the general layout, the photo montages at the end were created by Char.
